Our medical professionals employ a wide range of proven techniques for each individual case. Below, you’ll find a brief explanation of the popular chiropractic techniques we use at our practice.

The Diversified Technique

Hands on manual adjustment/manipulation is one of the most often used techniques. You may hear some "popping noises" as gas is released from the joints as movement occurs.

Trigger Point/ Manual Therapy

The primary purpose of Trigger Point Therapy is to reduce the pain that results from hypersensitive muscles. Trigger points are identified by gently pressing on the surface of the skin, sensing the texture of the underlying muscle.

A trigger point is like a knot the size of a pea, buried deep in the muscle tissue. It is made up of lactic acid, a normal byproduct of muscular activity, which sometimes gets trapped in the muscle from physical, chemical or emotional stress.

Cold Laser Therapy

We provide Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) to promote tissues to heal faster. Laser light is used to stimulate light receptors on the mitochondria (powerhouse of all your cells) to produce more energy (ATP). When a damaged cell/ tissue has more energy; the cell can repair and heal faster.  We use the new Erchonia PL Touch cold laser at our office.  Erchonia holds most of the US patents for LLLT and is one of the few companies that has FDA clearance for cold laser.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy

We provide spinal decompression therapy for treating acute and chronic pain.  The therapy is effective back and neck pain. Sciatica pain/numbness and arm pain/numbness is also treated effectively.  Therapy is effective for Bulging/Herniated Discs, Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD or DJD),  Facet Syndrome, Failed Back Surgery. The therapy is effective in treating the conditions WITHOUT drugs, injections, surgery AND little to no down time from work or your lifestyle.  Decompression Therapy is an excellent option to avoid surgery for a disc herniation!

Drop Table

This technique makes use of specialized drop-piece mechanisms in the table to assist the adjustment. Individual cushions or "drop pieces" located along the table support each area of the spine until a small thrust is given. Each drop-piece gently gives way; reducing the pressure needed to move a specific spinal segment.

Soft Mechanical

This technique involves use of the Activator or Arthostim to give precise light thrust where the movement needs to occur.

Additional therapies

Our office employs many physical therapy modalities, including electrical muscle stimulation and moist heat to complement our other techniques.

Chiropractic Care

We provide advanced spinal correction and chiropractic adjustments utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic care have chiropractors been able to provide the level of help and expertise that is available today. Many of the newest chiropractic techniques are actually safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a chiropractor who cares about utilizing the most advanced chiropractic techniques, Dr. David Berg has years of training, expertise and experience in helping patients get pain relief for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other related conditions originating from the spine. Chiropractic care under a trained professional can even be used to prevent injuries and help you achieve total health or wellness.

Corrective Exercises

At North Hills Chiropractic, we teach our patients how to perform special "blueprint" exercises which can help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Many of these corrective exercises can actually be performed in the comfort of your own home to help improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care and spinal correction plan. In addition to skeletal misalignment, you may be experiencing pain that is caused by muscles and connective tissues which are out of their proper place. Other types of pain such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches are caused by muscles and tissues that are being used improperly, causing injuries over time. In each case, targeted corrective exercises and stretches from our experienced chiropractor will help you feel good while also helping your body achieve balance and health.

Lifestyle Advice

Many of our patients come to see our chiropractor to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, neck pain or headaches. While our chiropractor will address each patient's specific condition with chiropractic care, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health challenges. The goal of including lifestyle advice with a chiropractic care plan is to help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve, one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.

Spinal & Postural Screenings

There is a saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your spinal health is no exception. Posture and spinal screenings by a trained and experienced chiropractor such as Dr. David Berg can help reveal important health information, unlocking the door to improved health and well-being.
